If you have a 2009 "base". Yes, you can have power locks, with an engine disableing key. Also you cannot, just buy a remote off e-bay for $20, and try to program it....WTF..Just got off the phone with the dealer, and they said that the truck has to have the right "brain"...just my luck, got me a stupid discount brained truck....can anyone say Abby, Abby-normal..There I'm done..Anyone want a remote for $20 + shipping...?

Bummer....yeah Ebays really full of $#!T. I went down to a store called Ultimate Electronics and got an alarm system with a remote, plus automatic locks to the same remote. The auto locks came out to about 200 bucks...but totally worth it. No more locking keys inside or forgetting to lock! they just need little motors on the locks and he somehow linked that to my alarm system all onto the same remote!

Totally my bad. I just should have called the stealership and asked about the ecu..just thought that since I have power locks, the ecu would have been the same...there is even a 20 amp fuse in the remote door lock space.

wait...so you thought because you have power locks that meant you had the ability to just buy a wireless fob and viola! Keyless entry?

So if you follow that logic, I shouldn't be able to buy an overhead console and plug it in...I have the sensor, and the harness.
Ya, I did...fuse is in the "remote door" slot..
    See my logic?

That's like trying to buy a $20 key fob with a remote start button and complaining that your truck won't start when you hit the button.

Yup, is the truck wired, with a fuse that says "remote start"? I know what I did, thanks.
