Soooo I made my cleaning attachment awhile ago to be able to spray brake cleaner through the injector while supplying power to it. I was going to put them back in the decided to put new o rings on them as I did not want this to leak. This is only my parts / cabin / maybe plow truck but I still want it to be dependable.

So I had each injector in a bag with them labeled as to what cylinder they belong to. I did one at a time removed the top o ring and nozzle everyone broke. The with a big screw in the vice I screwed the filter part on to it flipped it around and put a wrench around the base and gave a tap with the hammer. Install of new filter was easy, top and bottom o rings and new nozzle back in bag and drink a beer and repeat

Yes. Especially since you have the intake off. Its easy to do.
I think I've suggested it a few times before also.

Since you're budgeting this repair and OEM can be pricey. Hit up your local parts house. Not sure what kind of stores you have up there. Maybe Napa'eh.

This that and the other thing.
I love it when this happens lol

sorry to hear about your father man, my condolences

just thought I would check back into this thread haha saw you post up in @Kemosabe build thread, and thought to myself, wait a minute isn't he trying to fix that old first gen, clicked on the link and yup, I had read about 10 pages of this thread a while ago and found it pretty interesting, cant wait for it to purr like a kitten! :canada:

so on a kind of random note, not that I think its the problem, but a buddy of mine was working on his friends crossfire.
so he picked up the car from the dealer after having it fixed after collision. got it for good price. started up just fine, ran good, got on the highway and the engine shit the bed lol misfires and all that fun stuff. it would start run fine for a second or two then start misfiring and stall n what not. after changing many random parts and having mechanic friends look at it, he took it to a shop. put it on hoist, lifted it. when it was in the accident it bend the hit out of the cat. cat was clogged haha punched the cat and it runs like a dream lol

04 is snowed in and turned into a storage shed .....

Don’t worry this will be fixed when the snow goes.

My plan is to put the injectors back in, take the bed off and drain the tank as I think there is water in it that made its way up to the fuel rail.

Wonder how hard it would be to put a plow on this for cabin activities ?

Had a chance to get hi ho silver to my cabin 3hr away for $75 for a friend hauling a empty car trailer to go pick up some vw thing.

The injectors are still out so it’s not running and it is full of parts.

Pulled it backwards with my red truck and one rear brake was locked up so it slid into the fence.

Got the comealong and pulled it sideways.

Car Trailer showed up and pulled it out onto the street with one wheel locked up. It was in N but wheel refused to spin, few good snacks with a sledge hammer no luck. I took the drive shaft out still would not spin. We jacked up the rear end with a floor jack and winched it on to the trailer. Off it went

My friend tied it to a tree and drove the trailer out from under it.

So this truck is now 3 hr's away at the cabin on a woods road. Me and a friend have our bags packed, parts packed, tools packed .......
wonder what Tacoma wrenching adventures are ahead of us tomorrow ?
6 rebuilt injectors ready to go in
    gasket maker for intake manifold
    gasket scraper

I think the plan is to get the rear brakes free so we can move it
put injectors in and T body back on
remove the bed take fuel sending unit out and drain the tank (suspect water in fuel that caused all of this)

i will take lots of pictures of our success, attempt, failure
