Let's see Access Cab Rear Door Speaker installs

First off, thanks for all the help in my other thread. I'm a moderator on a different online forum and the helpful attitude here is very much appreciated.

I saw a thread on here where a member installed some 6" speakers in the rear doors of a new AC model, where none existed before. I plan on adding 6" separates- not so much for rear fill, but to have music around the campsite with the AC doors flipped open.

Anyone know if the sheet metal in the AC doors will have sheet metal for speakers?

Also- does anyone have a link to the wiring diagram for the stereo system on a 2015 access cab?

It should be the same for 2014.

I know where the speaker wires for the headliner drivers are located in the pillars.

Is there some kind of bass limiter/choke that needs to be bypassed to run full sound to the separates I'm adding to the rear doors?

 

I wouldn't waste time / money on rear speakers in an access cab. The last Tacoma I had was an access cab, I built a stereo with no holds barred at the time, and still didn't have rear speakers. You can check it out here if you'd like.

If you want speakers for the camp site, maybe check out what some members have done for in bed speakers? If you're creative, there are some very good ways to install them stealthily.

 

Get some nice DB drive speakers for outdoor use,
Make mounts that you can mount them to when your camping/ offroading.
Use some N2k cables and connectors "Nmea 2000 network" for a nice solid water tight connection

 

Thanks for the input. Another question- in the past I have hooked into the power antenna lead on the head unit to turn my amp on. Is there a similar lead on the Tacoma so that my amp will only power up when the head unit is turned on?
