I bought mine for $620 shipped although I didn't buy an extra window or the foldup bag. Either way $620 shipped and it's a great product. Try the website TRUCKADDONS.com

Question for those who live in the northern states or Canada. From what I've read the softopper does well with cold & snow, but I'm wondering how it does with salt spray? Right now my black truck looks more silver/white b/c of our roads here in Ontario. I'd love to get a softopper but I wouldn't bother if I'm storing it in the house/garage for 5 months of the year to keep it clean.

How easily do these things wash, specifically when you can't do it by hand during winter months (i.e. pressure sprayer or car wash)? I'm assuming leaving salt on the canvas until it can be cleaned properly in the spring would eventually result in staining that can't be removed....

Here's my softopper in winter mode parked on top of Loveland Pass, on my way home from a day of skiing. Rear mesh window is nice, so I don't have to worry about it bring brittle in the cold when rolling it up. Ski rack mounted across the bed under the softopper.

So finally decided on the soft-topper, skimmed through a few pages but what's the best price for a long bed? Best price I have found is 670 shipped

check craigslist or forum classifieds. Sometimes you may get lucky and score on a softopper for a few hundred bucks.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
I paid just over that but with the storage bag/cover thing included.

Hey everyone I am picking up a Super Top that a friend is selling to me and was wondering if i could fit a bed rack under the top. I was thinking something like the DerpWerx fab bed rack http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/texas/311959-derpwerx-fabrication.html. Also would it be possible to still run an RTT underneath the topper, and then fold the topper down to set up the tent? I was thinking the top would further protect the RTT and anything else I had mounted to the rack.

My Bestop thread just went to the second page here...more photos there. ETA: I misread the title as soft toppers, not the brand. Originally I was going to buy the tan softopper, but for a few reasons I did not.

Biggest reason is that when the sides roll up on the Tacoma softopper, for their other versions it doesn't always, the back pillars are folded up too. If it disconnected right there and allowed the sides to roll up independently I would have bought it.

Softopper has one anchor on each side like a boat bimini. The bestop has two down supports which open into three beams on top like the softopper. I think with the sides up, or windows out for the bestop, it offers better access to the cargo with this support spread out. Stress wise four supports to the rail are probably better as well.

The hardware of the bestop is black. I still have to derp the rail brackets, but getting all of the softopper hardware black would effect its ability to collapse I'd think.

I'm going windowless unless I need them. I prefer that look and functionality, and it avoids the big downside of the bestop. Folding it up with the windows in isn't possible and storing them in that situation is a pain. They're stored for me outside of road trips or when I need to keep stuff isolated.

it all come down to individual needs I love the added "out of site out of mind" for people trying to look into my truck, and when I need to roll it up for camping or accessing something, it's perfect. Also looks badass around town rolled up :D Softopper's customer service is some of the best, I will be purchasing from them next time. (got mine used on CL) I haven't seen a bestop in person, I would love to trying out out for a summer.
