That actually seems pretty reasonable if it’s rust-free, even with a few flaws. CA prices are wylin

what's up with the massive mud/putty crap on the inside of the driver's fender in the engine bay? wrecked? fixed?

also, why is the air box split in half?!?!?

someone beat this little thing up and is now having issues. the evap should be a tell-tale sign, how is it even running unless the tubes are plugged

Yep, and the radiator positioning doesn't look right, picture 14. Maybe this thing caught some air and landed hard. The seller seems to be trying to capitalize on the market by passing off a project onto someone with deep pockets that might not know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to inspecting vehicles. Couldn't give me this one.

No kidding. I paid a hair under that for my own ‘96 in 2019. Truck had previously lived between CA and MT and is all clear in the rust department. Been browsing on CL lately for the lady friend and used truck prices are bonkers right now.

    Stock. For now.
Prices going crazy high it seems. Bought mine, clean 2001 4x4 trd package, some dirt (driven on dirt roads a lot but not "off roaded"...not even a mark on the skid plate), small door dings, 230k miles, but otherwise in good shape for $7k from a buddy a few years back. I'd sell it for a hell of a profit, but my buddy would have my nuts! Plus, I love the truck.

Looking at autotrader, and similar trucks going for a hell of a lot more than that! Looks like you can't touch a tacoma 4x in fair shape for less than 10k now, let alone one in good shape!

I'd say mine was up there, 14k for an 04 v6 5mt trd off-road with 180k miles. almost mint truck with only a couple issues though, I think it was a good price

I came here to post the same thing.

It was bedlinered (entire truck and camper) and then the camo and fetish logo on the hood was airbrushed on top of that.
DON'T LOWBALL ME I KNOW WHAT I PAID AND WHAT IT'S "WORTH".

Man seeing the prices makes me really appreciate being able to pick this up from my cousin for $4,300 a couple weeks ago. It’s a ‘98 SR5 4x4 with 2.7L, 5 speed manual with 144,000 mi. No issues mechanically. Just a torn driver’s seat. I already have seat covers ordered.

That dude has a thread on here. It was a good read. I want to say he did that design because of being out in the desert. I'm a 2nd genner that loves the 1st gens :D

Just picked up the 01 TRD SR5 5 speed for 10k. 117,xxx on the dash. One owner. Damn near mint. Was offered 17k the next day. Saw one in my town on BAT that was near the same all around minus the camper shell and RTT go for 21k after everything. I’m going to keep it, I love it.

Definitely, wealthy older family friend that wanted it to go to a home that will actually use it. Sad thing is that he bought a new Honda ridge line to replace it (he’s also waiting on his new corvette) but I am very happy with it. Full carpet kit in the back as well. Very grateful. Not sure if I want to do any mods to it..

I wonder what the legality of that is. I know they make it clear in the ad that the frame is bad, but to sell a vehicle with a clean title and say "good condition" but also "as is" with a huge safety issue like a frame that is on the verge of failure...seems like they are setting themselves up for a potential headache.

If it was being sold for parts only then that'd be different, but to sell it as a running vehicle? I don't know maybe it's a grey area.

I mean you can't put up an ad and say "I might rob you when you come to buy my truck, so in case you get robbed let it be known that I warned you" and be free and clear of any wrong doing.

And lol @ "good condition". That frame needs serious repair or a swap, that hardly qualifies as good condition.
