Anybody know if UWS makes a slim toolbox like this Kobalt one?

    Lowes KOBALT slim.
Not heavy duty, but keeps the necessary gear from rolling around.

I like my Kobalt. Its not the thicker choice but it is perfect for me. If I had a bigger box I would load it down so smaller is good in certain cases.
I sprayed mine right after I got it.

Not in a low profile they dont, atleast my local truck parts place said they didnt offer one. Mine is a better built from wal mart, same as kobalt just different name. $198.00 in black.

I would def. want a low pro one if I got one just not sure I want the kobalt one because they are easy to get into even when locked. I'm sure it would serve any purpose I needed tho if I got one.

same one i have. i got the slim so i could still have some room in the bed, if you haul bikes/quads you might not want a toolbox as you lose valuable space and it puts alot of weight on the tailgate.

as for the toolbox i love mine, still stays shiny even after 3 years. and i dont clean it that often. i did mount mine differently though, i drilled holes on both sides of the bed rails and used my own hardware to fasten it down.

I work in the city of Philly and Camden.... never once has anyone broken into my Kolbalt. IMO it's easier to steal the whole truck.

If you set the lock strike correctly like i have it's not easy to open up when locked at all.

Locks only stop honest people regardless. I'm sure a USW lock drills out just as easily as a Kobalt.

Here's a UWS in my DCLB.
I love it but a low profile one might be nice because then you can see your tail gate.

Thats ok, the better built and the kobalt are the same box w/different name plate, thats why lowes sells better built accessories to go w/ there box. My powder coat will be there forever.

I have the low profile UWS box in black. It's great. I've had several UWS boxes on trucks through the years and IMO you can't beat them. Compare them to the lowe's boxes and you'll see. For example, the lowes box (at least the one I looked at) has one cylinder in the middle of the lid and the UWS has one on either side. Thickness of the metal is much better too with UWS.
