Lets see some of your cabins. This is my fully equipped secluded cabin in the Appalachian mountains of WV. I've hosted numerous TW meets here since I bought it 2 years ago. We shoot, atv, fish the Potomac river and wheel our Yotas. I just plucked the old Studebaker out of a field and had it hauled up to use as yard art. Still have some decorating to do to the ole truck. I'm thinking "Appalachian Moonshine" on the doors and decorate it like a old moonshiners truck.

I can't be the only member on TW that has a cabin.

I knew I wasn't the only one:D. Wife & I looked at cabins in PA first but then we quickly realized that the property/school taxes were kinda high so we looked & bought in WV. When you get a chance post up some pics.

This is a thread I'm definitely going to be adding to later in life.

End game is to build my own timber frame cabin in the woods on my own land.

Trust me you're gonna love it. I bought mine 2 years ago on 10.5 acres. Last year I bought a additional 5.5 acres (with electric, no well or septic tho) that touches my property, so now I have 16acres. I put a camper on that property. I plan to buy more land that touches my land if & when any of it is for sale. All unrestricted land up here on the mountain, total freedom.

Nice! Looks more like a old farmhouse than a cabin tho. I see you're in Dover, Pa. Wife & I use to camp at Gifford Pinchot state park before we bought the cabin.

Before the state forest owned all the land there were coal mines everywhere, the camp is one of the miners house built in 1912. We have electric but that all.

I looked at a cabin on Pa state land in Michaux St forest. But I didn't like the idea that you don't technically own the land. Then I learned that a non-Pa resident, like myself, couldn't buy it anyway. Wife & I loved that area.

I know the feeling. I go to my cabin just about every weekend. It's only a 2 hours drive from my home in Baltimore. I was on vacation up here all this week, just me & my dog. For 3 days straight I didn't see or hear another person or a passing vehicle, but then I took a trip into town for some supplies.

Didn't know the fact you had to be a PA resident to buy a cabin. The land thing isn't that bad my buddies dad and his brothers bought it in 1960. The state doesn't bother you about much and the land rent is actually cheap. We're the last place on a forest road so If he cabins for miles except the one on the road in so we don't get bothered by many

Wife & I found a cabin we liked in Michaux state Forest and we read online that only Pa residents could apply to purchase it. I wanted a cabin & property where I owned the land and no rules. Imo unrestricted & totally secluded land is the only way to go.

I never fished there, did atv there while camping. Just a short ATV ride down the mountain from my cabin is the Potomac river. I fish & tube there.
