Hi all, I drive a 3rd gen tacoma off road and am looking to run 33's with a negative offset. I was originally looking to lift it 3" but from my understanding no coil over is a true 3" they are all 1/4 to 1/2 below that's if there adjustable and on the max setting. (Which I feel like would ride stiff) or, they say throw a spacer on my brand new coil over to achieve a true 3". I will upgrade my UCA my mechanic told me don't buy anything with a Una bal and don't purchase SPC. He recommended Icon Delta joint or Camber x joint. I'm debating between bilstein 6112 (I think there b8's) and 5160 in the rear. Which will basically level out my tacoma? on the Max clip setting. if anyone is running 6112 set up with 33's please let me know how high it sits if you had to do a CMC and what UCA your running. Did you AAL or use blocks.
Im also considering BDS 4" lift that come with fox 2.0 (which you have to get serviced) Does anyone have a 4" lift? how does it ride? my logic is if I'm spending money on new coil overs to basically level my tacoma why not actually lift it and possibally save myself from a CMC

With the 4” kit you have to cut the front cross member out. So there’s no turning back.

this is true but from my point is, its better bang for your buck. I'm having a hard time justifying spending 1000$+ to basicallyy level my tacoma and have to a CMC

3 inches lower, not a fan of cutting the cross member out.

With the 4” kit you gain no more from a performance standpoint than 3” kit. So imo I wouldn’t cut out a structural part of the frame just to gain an extra inch of lift. Also depending on the amount of negative offset and if you run a true 33 you may still need the cmc with the 4”. Does the BDS kit have a wheel requirement? Plus a good cmc job you won’t even notice, you can still run your 33 and down the road should you want to go back to stock for any reason it won’t cost thousands to put back.

Looks like the wheel required is either 18x9 or 20x9 with no more than a 4.5 backspace and may still require trimming.
