Key ordered- a must have for me as well.
Quick question- how do you lock up?
Manually lock and shut as you exit?

I just touch the lock sensor (ridged spot on the front of the handle) same as I did with the original smartkey.

Now the downside though is if you've already walked a ways away from the truck and forgot to lock it you're stuck walking back...

That is unless you've added a remote start and SmartStart add-on... In which case you just remotely lock the truck from your phone or watch. :D

Just tried this out and it worked perfectly. Used Techstream 10.30.029 which came with the cable I purchased off Amazon. This was probably the trickiest part since you kind of have to use a crack/serial provided. Went ahead and used my old Dell WinXP that has a broken wifi card, even with crack, software mentioned you could only use 30 times without an Internet connection.

After connecting to the vehicle I went ahead and chose a Lexus IS250 2015 model because I assumed Tacoma wouldn't work with that SW version. If you need a video tutorial at least of the key learn process search Mark Kash on youtube. He has a few videos showing how to add keys to a handful of Toyota vehicles. You will at least see all the button presses to get to the actual procedure.

Guess I need to get an uncut key for the card now.

I need to do this especially after I just added in the remote start and aftermarket alarm. Two fobs is a wee bit to much on the key ring for me.

    What a great mod.
    $170 - 2 minutes with TIS
Never have to look for my key again

    Heads up for the adventurous!

I have some tokens left for programming! And there also two "experts" on here that have done it with a used key.

Not sure whether I'm more "expert" or "blind squirrel finding an acorn" but I'll certainly help if I can! :D

For those comfy with Techstream this process isn't bad at all for re-coding a used key. I ended up with a used card off ebay for $100 which re-programmed fine. Thanks to erok81 for the token sharing!

Yep, it's really quite easy if you're okay with Techstream.

After following gpb's post on page 8 and matching the numbers on the keys from the OP, I just successfully programmed my previously enjoyed Lexus CC key to my 2017. Thanks for all of the good info everyone.

Just wait until you drop your truck off with that key. I had a crowd of service people in awe of what I had done.:rofl:

And it is also nice I have no key to worry about.

Hopefully won't have to go in any time soon. Did my first oil service with oil test at 1k and just now again at 5k. My selling dealer is forty minutes from me with traffic here in Atlanta, others are closer but hard to make time when I'm in the same industry. I'll just pay for my own oil(Motul) and OEM filter and make up an invoice from my shop for my records.

Thanks OP! I just got my credit card key programmed by San Carlos Lock and Key. (If anyone in the SF Bay Area is looking to get this done.)

They did it in 5 min after the other places I went to wouldn't even try it. Very excited to not have to carry keys anymore!

You're going to love it. Completely new paradigm where you just grab your wallet and go. This mod is some of the best money I've ever spent.
