Press the handle lock sensor on the outside of the door before you leave the truck.

You have to use the touch sensors on the door handle.
This of course only works with trucks that have Smart Key and touch sensors. (2016+ TRD and Limited models)
If you have an SR, SR5 or an older model this Key, won’t work

Had mine for a year now, one of my favorite mods, don’t miss the key fob at all.

What are people keeping your card key in? I typically have it in my smart money clip that's made of metal, and I think the metal is causing interference with locking/unlocking the doors all the time. Sometimes it works perfect, most times it takes a couple tries, so it is annoying.

No problem in my leather wallet, but I do think it could be your metal clip. I had a metal work credit card that I decided not to keep in my wallet, it cut the range off my key when the metal card was in there.

I have a new battery in it already and nothing changed, so it has to be the metal clip. That really sucks because I love the smart money clip. Might have to find something else.

Wanted to report back in here and let you all know that I got a used key working in my truck with the help of @BigWhiteTRD !

The smart code reset process is easy and anyone with techstream and the token from the weboctopus website you will be able to program a used key as well and save yourself some money!

Also a big thanks to @Victory (OP) for showing us this mod, it's a great one!

Message with questions and I can help point you in the direction you may need!

Not sure if this is the cheapest, but I bought mine from Conicelli Toyota Partznet.
I got an email from them today for 10% off tomorrow and Wednesday.

You can find used ones on ebay from time to time. Might be worth a look if you are not in a rush.
