License plate light Disable while In Reverse (DIR)

We need a source for P&P replacement cameras don't we? Seems like that should be out there on the market somewhere. Maybe if MESO just 3d printed a bracket we could use a natika or something.

 

Oh, and update for those waiting. I'm working on the reverse T section (the short T with red and black wires). I also still have to crimp terminals on the relay feeds (the long T with white/blue wires). I'd call the raw construction maybe 65% complete, possibly 70%. I'll open them up for sale when they have passed the testing phase. Once all 30 are packed I'll start the next batch of 20-30. Also, note, I only have 27 relays right now, more have been ordered.

Or, perhaps a better way to set expectations based on wait list order:
1-30 -- should be ready for purchase in 7-10 days
31-50 -- I'm not 100% sure I'll have these done by the end of the month as I had hoped but it's not out of the question. More likely is early April.

 

Patience is a virtue, I'm not looking for fast food mods..... Thanks!

Received this product late last week, and finally had a chance to install yesterday. It was super easy. Only took about ten minutes to install, including help from my dog Charlie while I was under the truck. It was very nice to be able to back down my driveway at 4:30 am this morning with my lights on. Love this mod!! Thanks for making this happen!!!

 

Using a natika camera for the rear would be sweet. I use one for my front camera and it blows the oem rear outta the water with its picture quality especially in low light conditions

Got mine installed finally. Super easy, super well designed! The function is as good as I expected, makes backing out of my garage and into the darkness of country living much, much better!

 

Quick update based on last night's progress, I believe 120 crimps remain on the current batch of 30, then assembly, testing, heat shrink. Still at least one solid night of work probably more like 2-3 if I don't burn the midnight oil. I will not be able to work on this until Sunday evening, more likely Monday as we are out of town this weekend. So, on track for mid/late next week for the first 27 on the list as of inventory today and if I receive extra relays I ordered a couple of weeks ago then the full 30.

 

For those of you who wonder, you can see a difference this mod makes every time you shift from Reverse into forward. The camera is still active for a brief moment and you can see the license plates light up, two white spots of glare. Yep, it's money well spent.

 

It makes a huge difference. I wish I would of had this 4 years ago when I bought my truck. It’s amazing actually being able to see at night now
