Thank you everyone who got their order in, I sent out 10 this morning. As a reminder, I won’t be shipping Wednesday-Friday this week as I’ll be out of town.

A note about tape. Specifically regarding the license plate junction T portion (the end of the long part).

    86E0C492-1D2E-483E-9B9F-C339A2361EA5.jpg
NOTE: This photo is of my template which does not have the heat shrink holding the 3 jumper wires together.

I intentionally make this T as small as possible because I like the slim looks. When installing you will likely adjust / bend it to a curve in a manner which works best, then zip tie where possible.

I would advise following up with a strip of tape once it’s fully secured and working properly. You would wrap it like an ankle, creating a triangular shape. You could use Tessa tape or anything with minimal adhesion and good heat and puncture resistance. This would increase the safety margin against an impact from a piece of rock or glass to the bare wire.

Why don’t I do this for you? Two main reasons:

    1. I am rather horrible at wrapping things with tape. When I try I mostly make it look ugly. That’s fine for my truck but I have higher aesthetic standards for something I am selling.

    2. I think it is best to position the T before taping it so that the tape actually reinforces the bends. Since I can’t guarantee exactly how you will route this piece at the junction, if I were to pre-tape, it could wind up looking even worse than it does in the bag.

I think it’s far more important to secure the harness with zip ties but for anyone who wants full marks, consider adding some tape to this T once installed.

Mine has been returned to the post office... Can't stand my mail carrier. :annoyed:
Luckily wife was available to pick it up. Looking forward to getting this in tonight so I can enjoy the glory of being able to see backing up in the morning.

I've been wondering about my use of TW username for the recipient. For anyone who enters a name in the address input I will use that. I sort of wanted to respect anonymity and make the item recognizable upon receipt but if that's more than USPS can handle then perhaps it's time for me to switch to discrete fields for {To, address 1, address 2, city, state, zip, country}?

Aftermarket steel bumper points these lights a bit more upward, so this gadget is especially cool for me - but seeing that FBC sticker you tossed in.... that's what really made my day.

Nothing to do with the name, just the laziness of the mail carrier. Box probably won't fit in the mailbox and she's too lazy to get out and set it on my porch.
One day I came home to find an Amazon box shoved in my mailbox, took me a good 5 minutes to get it out...

I’m not sure if it was the merino shirt I was wearing but the small connector for the reverse light took me an absurd amount of time, like 2-3 minutes, to get undone. If you want to save time stick to a cotton shirt like the instructions recommend!

    Never go full merino!

Also, raw video footage filmed today. It was suprisingly poor acting across the board. We'll see what can be cleaned up in the editing room.

Agreed on this. I tried to do some justice to this with the video but I don't think I was able to.

I think the technique which worked the best for me was to cradle the taillight in my left arm like a football, use my left hand to pry while my right thumb presses the tab. You have to press quite hard to get it to release. I agree that this is the hardest part, though the first several times I also lost some knuckle skin on the bumper parts once it released.

USPS delivers for Amazon, so they can put them in the postal boxes. Amazon itself cannot.
