I tried 6k hid bixenons for about 5 mins that came out of my old car that got totaled. In the other housings, no glare, nice cutoff. In the tacoma housings, they were so bad I never drove on them, and sold them to 2 of my buddies with harleys. full retro is best option, but honestly I was majorly surprised by the ease and output of the lifetimes. best 20 minute mod.

Just wanted to give an update on these bad boys:

I did a 360+ mile round trip out to Lake Tahoe this weekend and had these on just about the entire time. It turns out these things are very reliable and are fantastic performers in the snow. They actually reflect and enhance everything around you so much more. It also makes the snow around you pop out so much more then with halogen. I am very satisfied with the performance of these and if I had to do it all over again I would in a heartbeat.

Just to update I received my new driver for the one that failed in about 3 days and put it in. The bad news is my plow has been on due to all the snow so other than for testing I have not used the lights yet.

Can you post pics of the outside of the truck? So I can see color temp etc I want to see what the lit up housing looks like.

Considering good halogens like silver stars are around $50 and wear out quickly, these will be still a great alternative to Halogens. Instant on is pretty damn nice to have too.

I'm assuming these will definitely have more glare than a retrofit, but still better than HID's in stock housing.

Just blasted through several miles at 60+ mph of hard washboard style off-road dirt yesterday with several banks and turns of hard terrain and these headlights are just trucking right on through the hard driving. Not one flicker or outtage to be seen of as you can clearly see!

How many people in this thread are posting about the lifetime leds? It's getting hard to tell...

I installed my lifetime leds tonight, initial impressions are good, cutoff very similar to the halogen bulbs, not noticebly glarey...

I have the lifetime LEDs. I've had them in my truck since the beginning of December. No problems whatsoever. Even in - 15° temps. I think the cutoff is extremely good.
