No... You just have to take the base off the light using a quarter turn. Put the boot over the part that connects to the back of the housing and then slip the light through the boot and quarter turn back into the base though the boot.

Can anyone confirm that the new style brighter lights have the same cutoff and beam pattern or are they getting to the point where where is a decent amount of scatter?

Also has anyone had a fan in these die on them yet? I am wondering the consequences of one of these cooling fans behind the bulb going out and if it would be significant or just result in a LED burning out? I'm just not wanting a melted headlight housing or something worse.

    Pop rivets and JB Weld.

Did the free shipping apply for international orders as well?

Any word on the price of the 70w version? Lifetime's site has them up for $250.

    Cheers :canada:

The price on lifetime is the price we sell for. International will probably be around 20-30 more already then you may have to pay import. I try and stay away from international orders. But I can price it for you. Pm me details

Add me to the flicker list. Not sure if it's the left or right because the beam pattern is so wide.

    Edit:

It started mildly last night, but this morning it was like a strobe light.

I emailed Lifetime, we'll see what they say.

Interesting. My flickering seems to be worse when it's cold. The colder it is, the more they flicker.

Ouchhh.....barely broken in. Thought you might say 100+. Anyways, I'm sure lifetime will shoot you out a replacement soon. They seem to have a good warranty/return policy based on some of the others comments.

That sucks man. I've been really lucky with mine (so far). I rarely turn mine off and they are still running perfect. I would contact Henry and get a replacement. He seems to be on top of it when I've talked to him I'm sure he can help you out.

Hope you get it fixed soon brother. Days are getting shorter now.

I emailed them this morning, and they got back to me within an hour and said they would ship out replacements today.

The thing is, I told them I didn't want a replacement unless there have been design changes, since the high beams on these are useless. I told them I would rather have my money back. Still waiting to hear back.

As far as the high beams, I have come to the conclusion, take a look for yourselves, the bulb cup has an arm that gets in the way for the high beams. I have a new set of headlight buckets to put in and was going to try and take the cup out. That would remove the obstruction.
