Pictures do not do LED lighting justice at all. Color temperature and distance will look totally different in the pictures to what it really actually is.

    Just a few LEDs...
You are probably right about that. But....several months ago I did a side by side comparison with the old style LED bulb and Halogen bulb by having 1 each installed at the same time.

You can see where the LED is more diffused and throws a wider beam and the halogen is more focused. you can also see the difference in color since both are in the same shot.

These aren't the best partially because the back lot I was in was not level at all.

If you notice, the LED light looks a lot more natural and is much easier on the eye. No doubt whatsoever that the LED lights throws out a wider beam. CREE the manufacturer of these chips puts in some awesome 45* and 60* wide angle lenses on their LED lights to ensure they get the most throw and angle out of their chips. Especially their XML2 chips.

Anyways... uh, what were we discussing again? Lmao.

KB Voodoo, what's the good word?

I would like to pull the trigger on these but I am worried about the boot blocking the air intakes to the fans, and of course the light pattern.

I *really* don't want HIDs. They will be blasting in the OEM housings, so I am hoping that LEDs will be the answer.

Funny you should ask. I did some more tweaking over the last couple nights.

I can now say that these bulbs are quite good.

Time will only tell how the boot situation plays out, but when you get these babies adjusted right, they are impressive.

Well, I'll wait another week, if you like them at that time I'll pull the trigger!

Also need to get some LED fog light bulbs as well. You say the temperature of the bulb is 6500k? (that's pretty blue!)

The 35W version is rated at 5000K, and the 70W is rated at 6500K.

IMO, they both are about 5000K. They are pure white, not blue at all.

ok so im having a problem, the light turns on and then dims a bit after a sec with the 70W version. I tried it with both bulbs

Here is a video turning it on it will dim, turning it off and back on and it dims each time...

Is each bulb dimming while being powered by its own ballast or are you moving the bulb from one location to another?

How much are they dimming? Are you sure it's the headlight bulb dimming?

I thought the original style that I have was dimming when I turned the lights on but what was really happening is the DTRL bulbs were going from bright to dim (parking lights) when I turned the headlight on and from inside the truck this gave the appearance of the lights dimming a bit when I first turned them on.

i have the 35W on the left and the 70W on the right, I turned it on just to see the difference side by side and noticed it was dimming. It is dimming enough that there is no more light produced from the 70W than the 35W, they look the same. For the second or so before it dims though it is much brighter than the 35W.

I guess i will go swap more stuff around and try to narrow it down :notsure:

Well damn, that kinda sucks. Are both sides doing the same thing at the same time?

Are you using the ballasts that came with the 35w bulbs or the new ones that came with the 70w bulbs?

So far I only mounted the passenger side so I could try to compare them. Now im just really disappointed. I tried multiple combinations of the light, driver and fault code canceler.

The ballast/drivers are for the 70w

And as an added insult the flashlight they sent with it just took a shit too...

I have two of their freebie flashlights, and they both only work when they feel like it.

Just for fun I tried it on both the drivers and passengers side and they turn on and then dim. Dammit I wanted these to work so freaking bad too. I guess it's time to put it back together and box it all back up. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow to figure it out I'm just not in the mood for this crap tonight
