One Shitty Experience, happy it is over

One of my Lifetime LED headlights went out after 10 months with the acrid smell of burning electrical equipment. It also blew the low and high beam fuses for the headlight and blew the replacement fuses when I tried changing the fuses.

When I contacted Lifetime for warranty return I was told I must send the headlights back before they would replace them. Really? What kind of shitty warranty is that on a vehicle HEADLIGHT ? That customer service sucks.

I am not even going to bother to send the lights back, I popped in some Silverstar Ultras and was immediately impressed by how much better the light output is than these Lifetime LED headlights with a nice crisp cutoff. Total shit. The mounting and fit was a cludge, the light output was Ok on low and crap on high, they lasted 10 months, they fried fuses. Total shit.

I am new to the Taco owners club but have been reading this entire thread trying to decide. I guess for now I will stick to nice halogens until this technology gets more reliable. Thanks for all the info guys!

 from Cary. Glad we could be the guinea pigs. There is another company in Charlotte BriteAssLeds, that might have a better product than Lifetime"of a fly"LED

Add me to the list. I've had my Lifetime LED's since June and the passenger side light just started flickering this morning. So much for that experiment.

I'm running csjumpers led bulbs. They seem to be holding up pretty good. Been in for two months. I run my headlights day and night (I know it's useless in the day but idc, it looks good) people might look into them

I'm still wondering what I did right to have mine all working after one whole year. Knock on wood it stays that way.

    Which ones do you have?

    35W or 70W?

Early version or the latest one?

Light output farther down the road sucks for all of them, but maybe we can nail down which ones burn out and which ones (kinda) don't.

Thank you all for being the guinea pigs. You all have saved me $150 and an abusive relationship with my truck. I'm staying stock for now.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Sucks to hear they are failing, but the warranty replacement process sounds pretty straight-forward to me, and in-line with what most companies would do:

Make claim, get RMA, send back, inspect, repair/replace. That is kind of the status quo for warranty deals. :notsure:

On a side note, I would LOVE to try to retro these in the Taco housing :)

Does anyone have pics of the lifetime led H11 fogs installed in the housings and of them actually paired with the lifetime led headlights?

I read a few threads on these but I guess I never found this one until tonight. My 35W version of Lifetime LEDs came in today and I WAS about to go install them. I'm having second thoughts. Does anyone know if they have improved the design or fixed the issues recently? I'd be fine with them going out every 6-8 months if it was easier to reinstall them but I'm a bit worried now.

They are not hard to install. Just have to take out the battery to get the driver side in.

I would return them and retro fit! I'm on my 3rd set since last summer.

Well.....I decided to go ahead and give them a shot. Took the first one out of the box, plugged it up: Only 1/2 of the LED's on the first bulb works. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a defect?

    Just a few LEDs...
These have two LED emitters. The top one is for the low beam. They should only have both illuminated when the high beams are on.
