Just installed my opt7 leds and the fogs led. While at it did the foglight anytime mod. These things are bright! 2 year warranty how can you go wrong? Always have the bumper light bar as backup

Good luck getting them to last two years. Here's to hoping they do but I'll doubt they do. Mine lasted 30 mins.

I'm still going on almost a year with mine so fingers crossed. I plan on retrofitting mine in the future.

lots of people say that their LEDs lights are bright, but how are they at throwing light down the road as compared to halogens? brightness doesn't neccesarily mean that they illuminate the road better than halogens.

Mine threw light just like the halogens (when they worked). Just a white light instead of the dull amber.

Just curious, those of you with early failures did you disable the dtrlon the truck? Iirc when I was researching these on southeast overlands site it says you need to disconnect the dtrl because the lights don't work properly with them.

I just went with Jumpers LED headlights. I'll update as time goes. So far they're great

I can't see where that would have any effect on the headlights at all. They run off separate circuits.

The voltage delivered to the led bulbs is less than they were designed for when drl is on and it damages the unit.

It's illegal to disable the DTRL in Canada.

    Nope, saves lives.

DTRL's attract the eye, you are much less likely to hit something with lights on it even in the day.

They are taking about the DRL not flashers. It's a long ass thread, look towards the end.

In summary the led headlights are not compatible with the voltage thats applied for DRL assuming the taco is the same as the FJ and uses the same bulb for both. The lifetime leds(and I'm assuming others) aren't compatible with the lower voltage that in normally supplied to the standard headlight bulb while daytime running lights are active. That seemed to be what was causing most of the premature failures reported in the thread in the fj forum.

It doesn't use the same bulb for both.
