Yeah...I am that guy...starting one more of these threads. I am thinking of installing a Rancho RS9000XL leveling and rear shock kit. I am old school on lifts and back in the day Rancho was like a Fram oil filter. While most people bought them because they were cheap. They were actually the worst in quality. Looks like the quality has improved i.e better welds and poly bushings. I don't do any rough off-roading just the occasional farm lane or field a few times a week during hunting season.

Also what are the largest 17" tires I can put on stock Sport rims? Thanks in advance for the input!

You didn’t ask, but you should do 5100s all around and a 1” rear block if you are looking for the cheapest route. Your spacers will work fine though.

Rancho still isn’t the best. It will probably look cool and get you by for what you are looking for but I'd be willing to be the tires will cup pretty quickly. Also may not get alignment right without adding an upper control arm.

As for tires, 40X13.5 is the biggest tire you can fit on a 17" rim. If you don't feel like cutting anything on your truck, you can go up to a 32" tire without too many issues.

No lift no rub no cut, full 33"

You don't need a lift. Put on tires appropriate for your use, and enjoy it as it is.

    5100's are a good option with 265/70/17

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input. I did do a search and it leads into a plethora of info. In which my brain going into over load. With most of threads get way off topic pretty fast. :boom:

I am leaning toward the 5100's and the 265/70/R17 option. Are the Bilsteins that much of a better ride? Looking for something smooth, as I do ride a lot of back roads. Which in our lovely wasteful governing state of Maryland are basically falling apart.

Also, I am not sure what the 265/70/R17 compares to in inches, I think @32" and while I want to go a little bigger as I have 265/60/R17's now. I don't want this gal struggling too much. Unlike my Gen 2, this Gen 3 struggles with stock tires at times.

Don't knock the Ranchos. I had my 5100/888 on for like 4 years and both of the bushings are blown out. 1 was blown out within a year and then my passenger side was done in 2022. I was in a hurry and just ran to O Rielly and got the ranchos (RS999915) and I like them a lot more than my 5100s. You get the 9 levels of adjustment (it actually works) and it's all prebuilt and ready to go with a limited lifetime warranty. Rides softer than the 5100s but I can't comment on longevity as I've only had them on for 2 months now. Went offroading with them twice now and I have zero complaints.

    Just my 2c...

Thanks Alex, I appreciate the input. A little better ride than the Bilstein's would be nice! Also I will only have this gal another year or so. The ride has just gotten so bad I need to do something asap. Thanks again!!!

255/80/17 for the win, true 33” tire without too many compromises.
