lift and tires affecting performance?

    I am fixing to install a lift and some 285/75/16 in the next week or so.
    What kind of differences can I expect? I like the acceleration and feel of the truck now, am I going to be giving that up? Adding a 32.8" tire will simulate me installing a set of 3.48 gears where factory for my truck is 3.73 I am assuming I will feel that difference at every red light. How ever in a hotrod that isn't that great of a difference with normal driving you really only feel it at full acceleration, is that safe to assume here too?

    Surely, you're gonna lose power. Is it gonna drive you crazy enough that you can't get used to it? That depends on how heavy your right foot is and what you expect.

    With my truck my foot isn't all that heavy. I was considering installing some new gears. I would need a set of 4.00 gears front and back for the truck to act the same as it does factory. That is compensating for the tires. Or would there be a better upgrade to make, thought I couldn't see what.

    yeah, you'll loose a little take off but it's worth it for the look.... i love a 3" lift with 33's..... but that's just me....

    I really didn't notice the difference in my 1st gen.
