Hello I recently got my truck and I’ve been looking around for a lift kit for it. I don’t want anything crazy maybe just like a 3in lift but I can’t seem to get the right one. I ordered one and it was supposedly for a 6 lug. Does anyone know or have gotten one before that knows that will fit on my truck?

Our 5 lugs have a totally different suspension. Your choices are few.

But 3" is pretty crazy BTW. Since that impacts steering geometry heavily.

If you step up to a 235.75.15 tire on a wheel that matches OE specs (or an OE wheel) you will gain 1 full inch of real ground clearance with no suspension changes, chopping or rubbing.

My suggestion is not to try to make it something it's not.

EDIT: I'm not down on 5 lugs. I have one. It's what I wanted, and it does all I want it to, and would easily do a little more. All I'm saying is don't go all poseur and try to make it look like something it isn't.

'Cause your knowledgeable peers will just snicker and the uninformed will still be, well, uninformed. And you will have spent a pile-'o-bucks.

Not answering your question by any means but if I had a 5 lug, I'd drop it slightly and make it the best handling pickup there is. It could be more fun that way..

as a 5 lug owner, 3 inches is about all you can do. however if you want to go insane, you can get a 6 lug axle and swap that into a 5 lug then the leaf springs will mount over the axle. then you will have to deal with further problems of angles and driveshaft mounting. this is as far as i know uncharted territory and i dont know anyone who has done it. front suspension might require uca and lcas if you go that route.
start up another conversation in the 5 lug lifting thread, some really knowledgeable people watching it might be able to help.
by the way, the tire size increase is a great idea, i am picking up some tires to do that this weekend

This...You can have a subtle lift but you may not be happy with it. Sell to get a 6 lug if you really want to lift it.

its a five lug and dont make it something its not. it can get very expensive real fast. unless long travel is in your mind, or want to go offroading, and its in your budget, sell the 5 lug. its sad but true.

Back in the 80s there was a magazine called mini truckin. It showcased the craze of lowering trucks that was going on back then. I saw many sweet low trucks. That’s more realistic for a 5 lug than a lift kit.
