My driver side coilover is set "taller" than the passenger side to compensate for taco lean. In the rear I bought 1/2 in rear spring shim to put on drivers side because the lean bother me some. It's only 20 bucks from wheeler's and they have 1 in I believe (I hear going more than 1 in isn't good idea for leafs but some do it).
Sorry - This doesn't answer your question why it is 2 inches. I hear 0-1 inch discrepancy is "within normal limit range" for lift. Hopefully experienced TW member can help. Im curious too.

2" is a bit much for just "Taco lean". They'd end up drastically different if he tried to level I'd imagine.

That's what I was going to suggest. Only thing it can be. Or a bad coil maybe. But does that even happen?

My truck is fairly level and my Dakar's are both the + version.

it could easily be corrected for the most part by adjusting the preload ring, but that doesn't seem like the right way to do it...

according to ARB they just indicate over, under, or at spec. looking at other posts on here and elsewhere they usually ship them with both springs matching. they also say that the difference between a "=" or "+" should only yield 1/8-1/4"

Maybe the spring isn't clocked properly in the hat? I feel like I've heard of people seeing this and rotating to solve.

I've had icon coils and king coils. Both had the pn printed on the coil.

My dakers were off by 1 1/4 on the drivers side, both were marked with O. I added a 1/2" shim and you almost can't tell. You can try swapping springs left to righ and see if it makes a difference, it might if you're at 2" lean.

On the front you HAVE to add more preload to the driver side. I have a 1/4 top plate spacer that equals .85" or actual lift, and my front is even.

Not sure why the lean is so bad, I weighed my Tacoma on race scales, and the difference wasn't that big left to right.

Wouldn't know, I haven't seen one in person. But usually when I have an issue I can't solve I take a look at the things I overlooked because I assumed they would be good.
    :notsure:
I agree that is a crazy amount of difference, I've never seen a tacoma lean like that.

I also want to add, all suspension bolts should be torqued with the weight on the tires. Don't tighten things down with it in the air.

swapping left to right was going to be the next thing i tried, if the leafs are off by that much that would at least be contributing to the front for sure...

torqued them in the air then re-torqued them on the ground. checked them again after 500 miles or so.

I added my front 1/4" spacer before the rear, and the front spacer didn't affect the rear as much as I though. But yes adjust the front first, then the rear.

I would loosen the shackle and leaf spring bolts up, bounce on the rear a bit, and the tighten everything again. Sometimes with leaf springs you can actually preload them.

If you look at the frame end of the factory spring bushing, it has large teeth to grab to mount, that way when the spring flexes, the bushing twists and doesnt spin in the mount. Makes it stay quiet.

Just buy the spaner wrench, droop the front down and add some preload.

Make sure to get the right wrench for your coilovers

inserting the spring into the shackle on the drivers side was REALLY tight... but i would think that would make that side sit higher not lower...
