do you think if i were to get it up on a lift and get all 4 wheels off the ground and take measurements to the bottom of the tire it might help me chase things down?

You should be measuring from the fender to the center of the hub so eliminate tire size and pressure differences.
And that way you can also compare to other people ride heights.

tires are all brand new and at the same pressure. I'm not concerned with anyone else truck, I'm concerned about mine lol.

It's still the more acceptable way to measure ride height.

Maybe I'm not understanding, but I'm not sure what that would accomplish.

I personally would start with the front, I believe at a minimum the driver side should have 1/4 extra preload than the passeneger. I'd loosen bounce, and then Re torque the rear shackles and leaf bolts.

Luckily you can do this yourself and are not relying on a shop with an hourly rate.

The fun in modifying trucks

it made sense in my head for a little bit lmao!

i definitely don't mind taking the time to diagnose and figure stuff out, that is half the point of wrenching on stuff yourself. i just don't have my own space to work in at the moment, so I'm constantly relying on friends garage's being free for me to use so when i am able to get in there i want to have as many things as possible to try, lol.

Dakars are either stenciled with a plus or minus on the top , if you have one of each you put the plus on the left side if you have two pluses doesn't matter to minuses doesn't matter. When they build them they check them against the standard variation and if it's over under they put the plus or minus

Yes sorry I didn't realize that until after I posted it , it wouldn't hurt to jack up the truck check measurements there , loosen the bolts on the suspension components set the truck it right height and then re-torque

Maybe try measurements on a couple of different places. When I take measurements in my driveway, the difference is exaggerated as most concrete has a slight slope to it. Try a parking lot with a full tank of fuel.

    You're probably bound up...
Rule of thumb; anything with a bushing gets torqued on the ground.
