ok so I have seen similar questions asked but no one said a answer that directly answered what I want to know... so I have a 12 trd sport with a 6” Rough Country lift with the upgraded lift struts that it comes with so it doesn’t require a 6” spacer in the front I am running 20x12 with 33s and they rub even though the lift says it will clear.... so what I want to do it get a small 1” or 2” spacer and put it on top of the strut what are the do’s and donts of this and no I don’t want to hear your opinion saying it’s stupid I want to hear a actual reason why thank you

No it’s rubbing on the front mud flap and the front of the wheel well but I havnt noticed it touching the cab mount yet but it’s possible if I hit a bump on a turn or something... but I would rather make it a little taller opposed from cutting on the truck

Small mud flap is removable. Get rid of it, looks dumb on a lifted rig.

I agree they are coming off soon but that’s not the only place it’s rubbing

33's should be easy to clear with a little cutting where ever it's rubbing. I'm not sure about adding spacers to an already 6" lift. I think cutting to clear tires is a better way to go. I've seen 37's on a 6" lift.

What's the offset and backspacing of your wheels?

Majority of suspension set ups have a max backspacing they recommend for wheels to be run with on the kit.

If the backspacing is off, this will cause the tires to rub.

Mine are 33 12.50 on 20x12s it’s the width that is causing rubbing not the height of I had 17x8.5 I could most likely fit 35s

Typically from what I have read, stacking lifts is not advised. By adding the strut spacer you are stacking the lift.

    1. Crank the wheel each direction and get out see what the tire is touching
    2. :sawzall:cut, rip, tear, bash that area until the tire fits.
    3.

I do not recommend step 2. Run narrower rims and tires to replace step 2.

I understand everyone says don’t stack lifts but how is it any different than having the spacer on my stock strut which is how the lift kits come from the manufacturer... I have a taller (lift strut) not a coilover so how is putting a small spacer on top told that any different?
