Yet you quote they fit... for me, to say a wheel combo fits on a truck, it cant touch anywhere during full cycling of suspension and range of motion.

So your basing this statement off taking a fully stock truck and just putting a 285 on it. Clearly that wont work lol your not making much of a point

Dude... you are not getting it. full stock, or lifted 3 in, a 285 has a VERY hard time fitting in a wheel well under suspension compression. Lift height doesnt matter at this point.

Thats your view on it man but explain to me why it would matter if it fits perfectly fine for every application the truck is used for? Lots of people and by that i mean 99% of people dont mess with something that works fine for them. Not everything works for every person but in my application it works great. More people trail ride, drive on the beach and snow than full flex on rock walls.

I personally think your trying to start an argument based on crazy thoughts going through your head lol. My truck does not rub in any situation in which i use the truck for. Why do i care if it will rub at full flex when it will NEVER see that in its life? If you can state a valid point based on that then ill shut up lol

(OP) I know I'm going to get a lot of crap for this, but I will ignore them anyway. It sounds like you want what I did to my truck for the same reason, and this is what I did. RS66901R9 this is the rancho set up, look into it, very easy to install. I have 285/70/17 no rub, but I also don't rock crawl. 265/75/16 will do great. The ride is awesome, adjustable ride quality, no complaints at all. If you want more details or pics, let me know...

I dont know what is wrong with a kit like that honestly, rancho is a great company imo.

I’m not trying to argue, but based on your filling comments, this statement is misleading.

As long as the OP knows that he can run a 285 in daily conditions and not off-road that is all that matters here.

I know, all my buddies who drive jeeps have them. They're just not popular with tacos...I don't know why. It's an awesome set up, takes the guessing game out of the equation.

I run 285/70/17 on my daily rig with no issues, so I agree, not a problem...although fuel economy does suffer...oh well

Its almost like there is a 33" tire out there that won't hurt your mpg too bad and won't have rubbing issues.........25580r17

I'm considering a very similar setup. With the extra skid plate weight, was there a reason you didn't go 886 instead? Some day when I do follow through and replace my suspension, I plan to add a US Offroad bumper/winch combo as well. So I'm thinking I'd want 886 coils.

I got the 885s cheap. I have sliders on order at the moment and once those go on I will probably bump up to 886.

If I were you I would just start with 886 if you are adding a winch

I get around 19 mpg city by my calculations at the pump. Previous owner regeared though so it probably helps out quit a bit lol
