I woulda call them to confirm that they will clear the calipers.

And I'm betting you will need to cut the cab mounts with that setup since it has 4.88 bs.

I called them. They said the 16 X 8 Ultra with 4.88 backspace would not rub the calipers on a stock Tacoma....why would wheel rub with suspension lift?

Would my rubbing issue be tire on mudflap, wheelwell, and engine mounts?

He said I should be fine between 4.5 - 5.0 inches of backspace as far as the wheel.....

With 285/75 the tires will very likely rub on the cab mounts and pinch weld. You'll need to remove the front mud flaps altogether. It's all fixable but just plan on it in the first place.

Also, just a heads up, my wheels have a 4.5" backspace and they rubbed on the calipers, installed 1.25" spacers which led to some serious fender and pinch weld rub, and some cab mount rub. Did a lot of fender cutting, hammered back the pinch weld, and I am installing 5100s to avoid the slight cab mount rub when fully cutting the wheel.

they dont mean that the lift will do anything. What they are talking about is if you put a big brake kit on it probably would not fit

Wasn't planning on a brake upgrade...I've about researched this to death short of putting everything together on the truck and seeing where I'm at.

    Everybody's inpute has been appreciated!

285/75/16 BFG Rugged Terrain on Ultra Drifter 16 X 8 w/ 4.88 backspace and 10mm offset is the plan!

Just be prepared to do some trimming of plastic and possibly banging back the pinch weld as you might have rubbing, it is all easy work.

Best bet is to turn the wheel to see where you are rubbing then remove your wheels and get to work, easiest is to use a Dremel for the fender and some tin snips or heavy duty scissors for the internal wheel well lining. For the pinch weld (which will be behind the black wheel well lining) you can grind it or just use a sledge hammer, I opted for a sledge hammer. Just be sure to spray some paint on there if you do need to mod it, don't want it to rust.

If you have cab mount rub you have two options, chop them or lift. I have some slight rub as I mentioned, I will be lifting with 5100s, hopefully I don't have any serious rubbing issues if I go off road.

Also I would definitely test your wheels to see if they rub the calipers at all before you slap them on and go, two options if you have rubbing, grind the calipers, which isn't recommended, or get spacers. With 285s and spacers you will probably have some serious fender rubbing issues.

Toytec said the wheels will fit...maybe a little trimming with the 285's but that's pretty common from what I read!

Toytec says I'll be good for calipers...maybe just the trimming etc. that many with the 285's have to do...I've already got the coilover 5100 Billies to go on - they came with the ultimate kit.
