Hey, I was gonna try and lift my 2012 prerunner and put some bigger tires on it. I'm sorta new to the whole truck scene and was wondering if anyone could tell me everything I'd need to buy to do such a thing. I also wanna try and make it look sorta like the picture I attached.

Pre Runners are a piece of cake buddy don't stress it. Skip all of the spacers etc and get the Mactrac spindles for 4" of lift in the front and then you only need 2" of lift in the back to level the truck. There are a million options for lifting the rear but ultimately a new leaf pack is the best answer. As you go about this remember that the truck has a 2" + rake lower in the front so you half whatever you do in the front to have the back sit level...hope that makes sense ?

" cab mount chop " the cab mount is one of the biggest problems in the front wheel wells of Tacos, 4Runners and FJ's...cause' they all the same truck from the doors forward. Here is what my CMC looks like :

Nah any decent shop can do it very quickly, the cab mount is just cut off and then capped

Your gonna need to trim either way. CMC is needed, and no need to keep the mud flaps, there worthless if tires are wider than there own width + who doesn't want dirt on there taco. I would suggest rather you buy some nice CO's first, then get maxtracs later on.

OP sounds like you have all the answers. Maxtrac's kit from headstrong is the way to go. 4" or 6.5" whatever you prefer.

I really wish I didn't have to do a cmc, I'm really picky

Also read somewhere that maxtrac spindles helped reduce rubbing and avoid the cmc. True?

Btw does doing a cmc void any sort of warranty since you're cutting in to the frame?

For 285s you probably won't need to do the CMC unless you really plan on hitting the trails hard. I am running 285s on my 3 inch lift and I didn't do cmc, just some light trimming on the fenders and splash guards. The amount of trimming will depend on the wheels and tires mostly.

Well I have about 2.75" of lift up front and I'm running 285/75/16 duratracs. I drove them around without trimming anything for about a week. It rubbed pretty bad in reverse and at/near full lock...mostly all of the rubbing was on the splash guard under the bumper, but also a tiny bit on the fender where the front mudflap was. After trimming it doesn't rub at all unless I really hit a big dip hard or something like that.
