It all boils down to economics, shure some will say why skimp on such I high priced truck by not getting UCA's. With so many mods options to do that will make a person go broke :) some like me will get whats needed to lift our trucks and postpone whats desired till later. If a man can afford to buy his woman a $20K diamond ring but all she wants is the 5K ring most will get the 5K ring$.02

HeadStrong just had a group buy on SPC UCA's, i got in on it, and the price was great... but word on the street is these are maybe the most adjustable out there. i doubt you'll need huge adjustability but these things helped us absolutely nail the alignment for the right price and I'm not even a/m lifted. with quality parts or with HeadStrong you can't go wrong.

Trying not to beat a dead horse, just joined up w/ a newish 2017 tacoma. I’ve narrowed down my lift options and I would like to be around 3”. So far I’m thinking bilsteins 5100 all around, new coils, probably 888. Now my questions
1= Do I need to add a leaf? I would like truck level
2= Those that have the spc uca’s have you had any problems with them? I was warned by a local shop “he wouldn’t run them on the street” because of their locking nut may or may not come loose.... just what he said and I personally have no idea. Should I go with a different uca? If so what’s realistically priced?
Thanks for any help and response

Anyone still around on this thread? Im looking to get Bilstein 6112 Strut and Coil Combination and Bilstein 5160 Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks, also don't know if I need UCA's or AAL for it because I'm not too spun up on the difference in having them or not having them. Also looking to run Toyo AT II's 285/70/R17. TIA!

UCA are not a must to lift your truck, I installed Toytec Boss 2.0 and did not change my UCA without any problems. If you are going to carry loads in the back an AAL might be needed but the ride will get stiffer. I don't carry a lot of weight in the back so I went with tapered 2" blocks and changed the rear shock from Toytec as well. People frown upon rear blocks and say the ride is rough but that is the opposite. Blocks in the rear keeps the ride stock, comfort which I wanted.
