I have a 2014 Tacoma and would like to remove the black plastic mesh in the scoop and put some kind of HD lighting and a switch to toggle it but I need some ideas and suggestions.

Chiming in a little late on this thread but after a few years of batting this idea around I'm now wanting to add something clever and not too crazy. I purchased a much cheaper (than what C4 posted) version led light bar on Ebay. He did a GREAT job with his but finding out his kit for a 2014 now not available? Light is only 1 1/16" x 1 1/16" x 11". I have the wiring and a illuminated push switch installed. Next step is mounting the light (with my own bracket). My only challenge is to make a complete mesh to replace the "fake grill" snap in plastic insert. C4 showed cutting the original to provide an opening and reinstalling the end pieces but I'm trying for a somewhat concealed look. Not too worried about reducing light exposure - it should be minimal. This is more for the "cool" affect, a little more front light and not off roading.

    Just a few LEDs...
This grille might work for you. I modified the hood scoop to have a decorative LED array, smaller than a light bar.

Thanks for that! I must admit - the price for the grill is more than my light, relay and wiring....:notsure: Noticed other sites in the $99 - $125 range. A bit much for a 1" x 17" part. I did find a black wire mesh item I think I can use and make my own.... $5
