I need some advice here...So I had my release bearing replaced on my truck two weeks ago under warranty at 58,000 miles..well after a week the clutch started acting up again...took it back to Lithia Toyota Redding, Ca. and they recognized a problem still exists. Today they called me and told me their service manager and Toyota Corporate told them they aren't authorized to touch my truck since I had an aftermarket URD Stage 3+ clutch installed previously. I told him they had to prove that my aftermarket clutch was the problem. He said call corporate....VERY UNHAPPY at this point...

I don't see the problem or a reason to be angry. I am not trying to be a dick, but there are a couple of points that need to be addressed.

1.) You installed an aftermarket URD Stage +3 clutch. I assume that was clutch, pressure plate and TO Bearing.

    2. The clutch started giving you trouble and the dealer replaced the TO Bearing free, even though it was an aftermarket clutch and a wear item.

3.) The clutch started messing up again after a week. Now the Dealer and Corporate both say that they will not touch the clutch because it's aftermarket.

You have already stated that the clutch is the problem, and that the clutch is an aftermarket item. Why do you expect them to work on it under warranty?

I don't think they are required to prove anything.
    Your logic escapes me.

That's bad luck. Hate to say it but you are on your own. Regardless whether or not the clutch caused it, something VERY closely related is having a problem. They have every right to refuse warranty, when you mod your vehicle, it is your responsibility to take into account being able to fix it on your own should something go wrong.

Now if it was your radio or A/C, that'd be vastly different.

1.) Nobody claimed to be a lawyer.

2.) Based on just the facts that were listed in the OP is enough for them to deny warranty for the clutch. They still may good will it, but he shouldn't be mad if they refuse, it's an aftermarket clutch.

    3.) No.

no i didnt replace release bearing when I upgraded clutch...didn't think it was necessary at 50k..my bad...also the truck has been into the dealer a few times prior to all this with hard shifting issues. They replaced release bearing under warranty two weeks ago and never said a thing about aftermarket clutch being a problem. ( I told them prior to them working on it I upgraded clutch.) It is acting just like it did before when they replaced the completely shot (their words) release bearing. Tacomas are known for having an issue with the snout the bearing slides on...there is a TSB on it...

I am 100% sure toyota isnt going to touch anything broken due to the aftermarket clutch. It's not Toyota fault that op put on the clutch. To be honest I'm surprised they even fixed the bearing.

they already replaced the OEM release bearing once, now they are telling me I'm burnt...doesn't sit well....there is nothing wrong with the clutch itself...it is a consumable product and I know isn't warrantied, but the tranny, synchros, release bearing etc are. I replaced the clutch originally because it was hard to shift into second gear and since I am supercharged I decided to put in a beefy clutch...

Have you gone to the place where you had your aftermarket clutch installed?
