hey all had my 2017 and been reading here for quite some time never really thought to post

I have seen the complaints about the power and transmission and sadly have to agree with this feedback however I think the truck looks good. Not going to add an aftermarket electronic systems or tunes to this truck simply because i want the truck to remain stock and don’t want to dump more money into it.

Getting a rattle in front passenger door it sounds like when I’m bumping my JBL audio. Can’t tell if it is a blown speaker but it’s usually when sound is up a little higher. Never hear the rattle otherwise.

Thinking I may trade her next year or so because that new Silverado looks bad as fuck!!!

Tacoma lacks a bit of room for me so full size is probably the way to go...like the tundra but damn that thing is a dinosaur. When will Toyota bring their tundra up to par with other full size performance and interior design?

Live with it or trade it in for something else.

They will not add more power in 2019 Taco, I can pretty much gaurentee that...

Sometime next year magnuson will have a supercharger for us, but I'm sure you don't want that if you don't want to add an OVtune for the truck.

Wait, so you're complaining about the tacoma, say you need a full size then complain about the Tundra?

    Okay.

Maybe I’ll get the 2019 if Toyota Tacoma delivers a better driving experience

Not going to happen, we're only 3 model years into this Gen.

And you've ruled out pretty much your only option to get noticeably more mid range power and overall better driveability. Yep, ~800 for OVtune. Get rid of it and lose a coupla grand I guess.

I did test drive it. The guy said it would be a little tight for the first 10k miles but then it would open up and get a little better fuel economy too. After it didn’t I went searching online for Tacoma complaints and issues and this site came up first on google.

Maybe old ford and Chevy but these days quality seems to be pretty darn close and Toyota today is not Toyota of old from what I seen here and on website reviews but who knows how the new ones hold up compared to old ones until time passes

I had a Silvy for a while. Good pickup, seats were more comfortable than my Tacoma. Truck had decent power. But it's HUGE. I mean, freaking HUGE. Hard to park, hard to fit into parking ramps, and it makes anyone that drives one look like he has small-dick issues.

    Do what makes you happy.

Man, I wish I had your problems "Don't like the way the truck shifts and I've got a rattle somewhere so I'm going to trade it next year," must be a hard life.

go test drive and push the ECT button before leaving the lot, problem solved. all you will need to do is add the ECT 'on all the time mod' when you get the truck.
