The box will never be the same, I'm gonna miss her.
I'm just glad i had the chance to enjoy her final days and sit under the shade of one of my favorite spots in california.

This tree was half the allure to that sot. Whenever we got there we'd B-line it straight for its shade crack a beer and enjoy the high life.

that blows, its a countdown until it's blamed on off-roading and they try to shut down the trail.

Yeah the fact that it happened during the winter while nobody was out there is our only saving grace on that front.

Although i wouldn't be surprised, Sierra Club and others are pushing to close all the trails in the el dorado national forest.

And we aren't helping ourselves at all... Talk in your fisrt post of cracking a beer on the trail only undermines the OHV community ability to defend ourselves against them.

whatever dude, i wasn't talking about drinking and driving. I was talking about spectating.

Drinking beer while camping on the rubicon is not against the law...being a drunken sailor should be though.

Eh the original statement lacks the info to make that stern of an assessment. If he's driving around drunk then that's a problem, if he's a passenger or just hanging out, there's a difference.

Their headlines would read, "Ancient tree on the side of famous off-road trail falls, offroad related cause cannot be ruled out." They'll leave it up the polarization to choose sides and by that point it will be toxic. yet another false excuse to keep us trapped to the pavement

As a passenger there shouldn't be an open container. At least in California.

    CA V.C. 23223
23223. (a) No driver shall have in his or her possession, while in a motor vehicle upon a highway or on lands, as described in subdivision (b) of Section 23220, any bottle, can, or other receptacle, containing any alcoholic beverage that has been opened, or a seal broken, or the contents of which have been partially removed.

Hey thread police, are you missing the point of this entire thread? I was talking about commemorating and enjoying what a landmark on the rubicon had to offer...Shade and mystique. If you look in the picture i posted directly below my comment you'll see people nowhere near a rig enjoying some cold ones under its sweet sweet shade.
    End of discussion please/

what you posted doesn't make sense as there is no definition of Lands. If you're trying to make a point, you should make your point logical, by stating part B. Also, that land is in a national forest, CA vehicle code does not apply to offroad trails.

what you should post is a federal statute saying you cannot ride in a vehicle with an open container, or as the picture demonstrates, sit under a tree and drink.

Back on topic, It's always sad to see treasured landmarks bite the dust. though, its better during winter than killing someone in their rig.

    Be cool guys.

I'm as hardcore as they come for "treading lightly" but using a 4x4 to gain access to a scenic spot where you stop, get out, enjoy the place you're in, and maybe enjoy a picnic lunch with a frosty malt beverage (as long as you pack out the trash), is part of the experience we're trying to protect.

depends, its a felony if it's DUI with injury, question is, does self harm qualify as injury?
