Posted this in the AV section as well - but not too sure how much traffic that area gets.

Need some help locating the factory XM tuner. I have a 2010 DC with the factory JBL/XM/BT and want to change out the XM tuner for a Sirius tuner.

I can't seem to locate the factory XM box...I've removed the radio and glove box - don't see it. I also removed the plastic surround around the JBL amp/sub and don't see it there.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Does anyone have a schematic or pics (I've tried a search).

    Thanks for the help-
    Cheers

It is under the rear passenger seat. You have to remove your storage boxes to get to it. I just installed one in my truck a few weeks ago. The wiring goes from the radio behind the dash through the door baseplates (is that the right name for them?) along the drivers side.

I am actually looking for the location of the factory installed tuner as it comes with the JBL system...for some reason it is not in the location of the dealer/owner installed Toyota optional XM tuner.

I appreciate the help, but the location you described is completely empty on my truck.

So the JBL system comes with the tuner already? Whereas everyone else with the "XM ready" radio had to buy it separately? That's crap! I was annoyed I had to pay extra for that.

I'm looking at installing a headunit from a 2010 Tacoma that has the JBL/XM integrated into the receiver into my 2006. This might help you as well, since I've got pictures of the front/back of the HU I'm looking to buy. I have the JBL setup so I know I can make those connections work, but I'm really interested in what the blue connector is for (XM Antenna/Aux plug?) and the other plug/connector on the top right above where the FM antenna plugs in. Cidgrad130, If you posted some pictures of those mystery connections (with the wiring that attaches to them) that I mentioned above it might help with your Sirius changover. Good luck :)!
