My father bought a 08 tacoma, 4cyl., manual trans. this week. He is having problems with the ignition and steering locking up. It happened the first time and he was able to jiggle the steering wheel back and forth and turn the key. He now has had it a second time in a week. But now he says he cannot even jiggle the steering wheel at all and it won't budge at all either way. He has tried different keys and that did nothing. If anyone could give me a clue I would appreciate it.

He ended up jacking the front end up off the ground. That freed up the steering wheel enough to start it.

It's a good idea to park it with the wheels straight. Also if it gets stuck again, man handle the wheel while gently jiggling the keys
