Got mine to work. All colors are the same. The only thing I ran into was that there are 2 blue. Make sure to use the larger blue. Everything else was the same. Works great.

So I thought I had it all figured out how to do the locker mod, pull the glove box off found the ECU and the correct wires, bought the 218 DC relay from radio shack and all the connectors and crimps but then I started to confuse myself! My questions are:

    1. Once I cut the wire, what side do I connect the female connectors too that go to the relay? The side of the wire coming from where ever their coming from or the side where the wire going to the clip that connects to the ECU or do i feed them both into the female connector? This might be a stupid question but I got myself so confused over this I figured I'd just ask to make sure I don't mess it up! I hope I made it clear so you guys would understand? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

What about just hard wiring the locker to another switch? You may not have the light or anything but if it works it works.

Has anybody tried that? or can it be done?

Alright so is everyone using the DC relay? My AC relay doesn't seem to be working, I've checked and rechecked the wiring. I checked power going to the coil and I have a good ground. Any advice???

Well never mind, went out and bought the DC relay and it works fine. Not sure why the hell they say to get the AC relay when there's only 10 VDC coming out of the Black/Red wire. So for future reference buy the DC relay and save some time.

I heard from another member that radio shack has recently changed the pin numbers on the 275-218 relay. So the numbers no longer match my instructions.

Please post a picture of the relay and the back of the package. I can give you new instructions.

There are two greens for the power and there is a green for the ground but I have looked at your instructions and on my relay the numbers might be different. There are numbers on the bottom next to each out thing they go 1 and 4 is power witch are green 3 is pink 5 is blue 6 is LT green 7 is red/black 8 is ground and I'm going by your picture cause your numbering diagram changes on mine so Idk what to do now. Thanks for the pictures.

Looks like radio shack changed the relay.

Looking at the diagram on that relay I believe this should work:

    1 - Violet
    2 - Green/Black
    3 - Pink
    4 - Violet
    5 - Blue
    6 - Light Green
    7 - Ground source
    8 - Red/Black

You should be able to plug in just pins 7 and 8 (no other wires) and press your locker button and hear the relay click. That will tell you that pin 7 is connected to a good ground source and the relay is working properly.

Let me know how it works out for you.

It works. I just bought another relay redid all the connections and it worked thanks a lot can't wait to try it out. One more question. I know a lot about lifts kits and what's good and bad. I don't like doing things hafeway. so I'm looking at a 4.5 rcd lift kit on 33s or a 6in fabtect on 33s wondering witch one would be better wondering if 6in is too much and if I'm going to run into problems.

As always, TW is the greatest site!!! i just successfully mod'ed the taco with the any time lockers. the only issue i ran into was you need to reattach the F12 connector after your work is complete if you expect the lockers and 4 wheel drive to work properly!!! :)

    Thanks gentlemen.

Next weekend is the music player mod!!!

I've gone pretty quick with it before, just be careful not to turn too sharp with too much gas because there rear is more likely to spin out with it locked.

I keep mine locked the whole time I am in Pismo.

Locked and in 4wd high. Works well at Pismo up to 50 mph with tires at 15psi.

It's the F12 connector. check the PDF and wire the 275-218 relay like this:

    1- Green / Black
    2- Violet
    3- Violet
    4- Pink
    5- Green
    6- Blue
    7- Red/Black
    8- Ground

So after reading many articles on anytime locker mod I felt comfortable to give it a try. I follow the diagram as mention in this thread:
    1 - Green / Black
    2- Violet
    3- Violet
    4-Pink
    5- Green
    6- Blue
    7- Red/Black
    8- Ground

I used Radio Shack 275-218 relay and upon completion I turned the ignition to "on" and engaged the locker button. I can hear the relay click and visibly see the relay switch so I figured it was good and time to try it out in the dirt.

Once on the dirt I engaged the locker button and drove some circles and spun the wheels some but could not get the rear tires to lock up. I still only had one tire spinning? I engaged the truck into 4hi and 4lo and both worked but the weird thing was I didn't have any lights on the dash light up except for a yellow 4lo light when it was in 4lo.

Shouldn't there be some sort of light that will light up in 4hi and also when the locker Is engaged? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
