hmm... well my 97 4x4 that has the trd off road stickers, aftermarket shocks, but does not have the RR locker button like my 03 had. so any other way of knowing if i have a locker?

by the way mine does have a clutch canceling button... i know what it does but what is the point of it??? seems kinda lazy to me.

A lot of people put TRD stickers on their trucks just because it looks cool. I almost bought one once, but the guy was honest enough to tell me it wasn't a real TRD. I wouldn't have known the difference at the time. I think your VIN will tell whether yours is a real TRD, but I don't know the codes right off.

TRD package started in 98 so it does not have a locker. Apparently there were select reg. cab tacos starting in 96 that had a rear locker, but I have yet to find one.

If you don't have the rear diff lock switch, you don't have the (factory) e-locker.

The locker was available as a standalone option on 1996 - 1997 Tacomas (Regular Cab manuals only in 1996; XtraCabs added in 1997).

As already noted above, the TRD Off Road Package (as a package) didn't arrive until the 1998 model year.
