From the parking lot of O'Reilly's, it's legit!

Now, let's see if the ECU agrees.

Isn't O'Reilly's under a different name back east? I know some shops are that way but carry the same inventory.

Anyway, it cost $17.39 w/tax. I think I can First Class it on the cheap, maybe <$5? Consider that in your shopping and I'll report back if I get a code.

When I put in Stephens city, VA the closest location to me it came up $15.99
If I could add a few things like a new drain pan and find some items I'd use to make it over $35 that would be worth it if they are actually selling the cap that works.
$5 for shipping on one that works isn't bad either.

Yep, that's the price on mine but then our Dbag Governor gets his cut.

Let me know if it works out that you need it.

Post back after a days and let me know if it gives you the cap warning or codes.
I'm sure even if I buy it online Tom Wolf will get his 6% too

Nothing. Just the code which is easily reset if you have an OBD Scan tool.

    That....and explosive diarrhea.

First it will be a big red message in the center display telling you to check the gas cap. it will go away if you clear it off the screen but come back when you start the engine again. eventually it will set the check engine light. the codes it will set are something like large or small evaporative emissions leak.If you have to pass an emissions test that will fail you in most places.

you can reset it I reset mine with OBD Fusion but it will keep coming back... annoying

Nothing. I just drive with the CEL until I have a spare minute to fire up my OBD app and clear it.

So far, so good. I'm feeling so positive on the cap that I had a third key made for my back-up key locker.

That's good news. I would think if it doesn't soon it won't be a problem. when I tried the counterfeit cap it would set the warning by the 2nd day it was on

I have a hired Goon that follows me around with a briefcase which houses my key locker.

...and thanks for the BD wishes!

For reals?! I have never experienced such a wonderful thing nor do I know anyone that I am aware of that has had it happen. What was the remedy after going through that? Expensive?

some one did to my Dad's truck in the work partaking lot when I was a teen ager. it was a 1977 F250 so it didn't do too much damage as I remember. the fuel system needed flushed out.

Funny thing is I’m an easy going person and always home (gated and garaged). I work at a ER, best guess is it happened there. But who knows, maybe someone hates me lol.

So it was a $2k endeavor, went to the dealership and to be honest we are still unsure if it was sugar or something else. Either way, something got poured in there. Insurance covered most of it so it wasn’t too bad, still sucks though. Fuel tank/ fuel pump replaced, fuel lines flushed out.

truck is good now, but has a random rough idle from time-to-time. I think the Injectors might still be a bit dirty.

I guess sometimes it pays getting the dealer to install one when you buy the truck. So far nearly 2 years, and mine has been fine.

I think you had a thread about that a few months ago, if not someone did as the pictures looked similar. You seriously don't have have someone upset with you personally. Some people these days do things like that because they don't like it that others have nicer things than have so they try to ruin it for you.
