Any advantages of the Toyota one vs the Stant one?

It only says Toyota on the box, not on the actual part. I suspect it's a re-packaged Stant 10504, based on photos on Amazon, but I don't have an actual Stant to compare side-by-side. My "Toyota" cap has been fine for the last year and a half. No problems with the lock after 45 fill-ups. No check engine light.

Note there was a change from the quarter-turn to the threaded gas cap in (I think) 2008. The Stant quarter-turn cap (PN 10509) had reported problems.

I've had 2 Stants on my 07 since new. The first one never locked right and after buying the "re-designed" one it broke after six months. The one I have now is made by Murray sold at O'reilly auto parts. This one is by far superior to the Stant. You can either use it as a regular cap or with a twist of the key it's locked and rotates freely. This one's been on for over 3 years now and has had no problem what so ever... I highly recommend it!

Yeah...the first Stant could be pushed in when locked and it would spin right off even though it was the correct model number for the truck. The re-designed one broke (something inside came loose and it quit working.) The Murray I have now is the standard one and has never thrown a CEL light. I've never seen or heard of the "key vent" model...might be worth looking into.
