    Now you're talking!

btw if I ever get relocated up there (cuz it seems like a pipe dream at this point as slow as everything is moving) you are gonna have to come pay me a visit so I can put some TLC on at least that fr-s and show you its true potential! I'm a bit of a product snob on detailing!

I only do exteriors though.... some folks are just nasty as hell and that has ruined me from doing interiors, there are only so many times that you can reach under a seat and grab hold of a moldy french fry without puking before you say that's enough.

Hahahaha. Not in our vehicles. I have eaten maybe 2 meals in my truck. I hate a nasty interior!

This was 10 minutes ago. I get the occasional wet nose print and I'll tell you it's hard to drive with a manual and this in your lap...our newest puppy headed to the vet.

Heck I have an automatic and its hard enough to drive in Birmingham traffic with an automatic and my dog in my lap. Which is why he has a "car bed" throw it in the passenger seat and he stays laying down in it, for the most part, the entire ride. My dog is a bit overly crate trained, to the point where you throw a dog bed anywhere in the floor or anywhere else and he will automatically run over to go sit in it.

Finding small amounts of steel around here is fucking ridiculous! Found a shop that was willing to sell me what I needed to fix my tire carrier for 40 bucks but then said he would just do it for 50 out the door. When I asked why it was only 10 bucks more for him to do all that welding he said it's not. Basically it's 50 bucks for him to do it with his own scrap since he already owns the metal and was only charging so much for the metal I needed because he didn't get any work out of if... WTF is wrong with the world. Needless to say I am having him do it to end my search. Good news is he is using 2" DOM and 1/4 plate when I was looking for 1.75 and 3/16 so that's cool. Rant over!

    Who did you find?

It is quite common for shops to charge higher for scrap when they aren't getting the labor. Metal at a shop is cheap and they make money off the labor, not the material. If it's a drop and he can charge for the material he is really making money twice, but doesnot get the labor which is what he needs to keep people employed.

Most metal yards only want to sell full pieces because they can turn inventory. If they keep a lot of drops then they have holding costs for odd sizes they may or may not be able to sell.

Local guy called Production Fab. Small one man operation. Only place that would entertain selling me the scrap. BMG laughed at me.

If you ever need more metal try this place http://www.allmetalsinc.com/

I'm going to get a bit to fix those ATO mounts and add a plate for shovel mount. Also for aux fuse box tray
