Did that at Shoe Creek, just sucks unloading everything. Trailer would be nice but suck to wheel with.

could leave it at the campsite :notsure: shoe would be a pain because youd have to go back the trail or go around but for other places with a more central camp location it would work better.

    also this? http://www.hennessyhammock.com/

No leaving it at a campsite on this trip unless we do Moab. But I'd rather keep moving around on a West coast trip.

Hammocks are sweet but still have to find a place to set-up. Not going to be good in the mtns of CO or in Moab.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Seriously you can't have your cake and eat it too...unless you build your own low profile bed cage setup and install some kind of siding to it to keep your shit dry and secure. That would be sexy.

That's an option on down the road :D Need to get some other stuff taken care of and refine my gear/needs a bit better.

I've seen the racks over soft toppers, no reason why you couldn't put a rack over the shell

Too high and MPG issues. I know like Loco said can't have my cake and eat it. Only option that really rings in well for me is some sort of hybrid rack/shell that keeps the RTT at roof top height.

If we do CO I really like the San Juans. I'm thinking the week prior to Labor Day. Here's the trails I was looking at in no particular order, as well as possibly hiking a 14,000'er.

    Imogene Pass
    Black Bear Pass *
    Poughkeepsie Gulch *
    Engineer Pass/Cinnamon Pass (65 mile loop/one day)

There may be a few more, can't find my notebook and think I left it in a company vehicle.

Day 1: RIC to St. Louis
Day 2: St. Louis to CO Springs
Day 3: CO Springs to Ouray (1/2 day on the road and 1/2 day on the trails)

Sucks ass when the highlight of your day is that your water hose valve finally thawed! Only another 30 minutes of thawing the hose and I can wash the shit off the taco! Fuck snow.

I am gonna start a thread. Would be pretty cool to get a solid group of well built trucks in a convoy and trail group from the east coast to Colorado. No more than 6 I would imagine. All locked and ready for some good trails!
