Yeah that's a good catch, Kings use pipe thread so you can't just turn the fittings however you want too like a Fox. @FlapJack935 did you rebuild the CO with a different fitting ?

 

Mine came with a 90* swivel fitting

 

Plan is to wrap up tonight. Bending up the bumper now, then im on the road. When I get home next week Ill have to play with the rear glass some more and little tweaks here and there, but all in all im super impressed with Jeffs work

 

Oh that's cool, when I had a rubbing problem I had to buy all new fittings and hoses to be able to reroute mine because they were NPT.

 

That's what I'm running and gives you proper thread engagement. Easier/ cheaper than doing longer studs

 

Yeah I found the ones on wheelers that are open ended with much more thread engagement. Gonna order some and install when I get home next week

 

you make those mounts yourself? i was thinking of doing something like that and then connecting it to a engine cross brace

 

Dirt designs makes a hat that goes ontop of the coil bucket. What he used. Has a spot to add the tube for secondary.

Yeah but worth it! Fuckin hotel front desk lady was chilling in the back and didnt hear me calling the front desk for like 20 minutes, behind the locked front doors lol. Had a panic moment, thinking I was gonna have to sleep in the truck lol

 

Splooge. I'm glad it turned out to be a solid truck. learned a few things, cursed a few times, broke a few tools. 7/10, would bang again.

Update: finished another tube across the middle and the TC shackles mounts. Not sure where exactly i needed to mount the shackles but i knew they needed to be pushed forward so at full droop it wont go past vertical. paint will be coming soon as well as actually installing the TC shackles with my leafs.

P.S. welding on a hot day outside sucks!!

 

The only problem with running tubes like that from side to side is frame rails have a tendency to twist or move up or down when the stock cross members are removed. I learned that years ago when I cut everything out of the back of my first gen. Those frame rails turned into wet noodles

 

is that your shackle angle at ride height?

 

Been driving all day, got a couple things to mess with in the morning and then out to the dunes! Hopefully getting the glass painted this week and can paint any bare metal left, should look awesome then!
