Who is this gear guru? Ask him why my Detroit locker is so noisy going straight down the road. I remember my other one being noisy around turns but this one makes kinda a whining sound at all times

That sounds like a backlash issue maybe. Maybe pull the 3rd and check your gears with some gear paint. I can hear my driveline though my cage all the time, but it's kinda like loud like a motorcycle or sxs since I'm not isolated.

Yeah that sounds exactly like my diff before I ha it regeared a second time but by a a better shop. The first go round the shit whined bad. Yotamaster pulled it and the backlash was all out and the gears had worn bad.

    Here's his link

    http://gearinstalls.com

I have be emailing him questions and he's Ben very helpful! Replies quick and doesn't mind answering all my emails. I first heard about him through TTORA but forgot all about him then @Blackdawg mentioned him and put his link up several pages back. I will only have a Toyota experienced shop do my hearing after why I went through with a "very experienced" local gear guy. Yota diffs are not the same as jeep diffs :D as he found out.

He is a great guy. I can't believe he still updates that site constantly. So much gold in there.

Very nice too me too and helped me a ton when i did my own diffs. He knows his stuff.

And Yota diffs...are picky as hell!

Dirt designs ran a group buy on a kit that looked identical to that. I think they sold quite a few sets. I have a set sitting on my work bench. You may want to add a hole to the center of the bottom plate for coilover clearance

Ahh didn't realize they made a kit for this, the bottom plate has standoffs at the bolt hole locations to give clearance on top

I saw the standoffs. Just wasn't sure if they would offer enough clearance. I'm sure they would have enough clearance on most trucks, but if you look at most secondary shock kits they tend to have way longer stand offs

Ah yea I know what ya mean, the vertical plate should be plenty tall enough to make up for it, hate the look of those tall standoffs
