Anyone have suggestions for a good long travel suspension, as well as tire combo?

3rd gens aren't any different suspension wise than a 2nd gen. Best kits out there are Total Chaos and Camburg. Both are awesome products, I personally think the TC race stuff has the upper hand at the moment but I run a Camburg kit on my 08 and have never had an issue with it.

Thanks. I'm looking for something that won't kill the bank account yet is reliable, and can offer about 2-2.5 of lift so I can sneak some 35's under it.

You dont have to go LT for lifting purposes. And those 35's are going to require some pretty good :sawzall:

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
LT requieres money that's burning holes in your pockets honestly. Then to squeeze 35s your looking at some chopped cab mounts at minimum. Mine are 35s by advertising but measure closer to 36s and even with a chopped cab mount they still rub. If your still intrested in an LT talk to @jt@bajakits.com he can set you up with something. If you just want to fit 35s I'd save the money and look into a lift kit. Just my 2 cents

Yeah their prices aren't listed and I was looking to stay somewhere around 5 grand total for the suspension

You could get a nice lift kit for that price an LT kit you'd be pushing it, if your lucky enough to find all the parts discounted.

I'll be honest, no way you're getting into a long travel kit for $5k.
