Ok, this is old but I'm sure there is a lot of interest. In adding a LT to the BDS kit, you would likely need a 3" longer shock and spring. Since she got the coils and fox equipment, that eliminated the 3" spacer they use in the cheaper kit. The drop bracket lowers the diff and lower control arm position 3". Shouldn't really be too difficult to figure out and considering how the BDS drop bracket kit is built, I think it should hold up pretty well. One thing I've always hated about just the mid travel is the knuckle. The stock one is flimsy looking at best. The ones that come with the drop bracket kits are beefy and generally relocate the tie rods to the top side for connection and really help the steering. Everyone is freaking out and making this way too difficult. The control arms mount in the same place. Just the lower is 3" lower. The standard long arm shock is an 8". Little geometry or suspension cycle and it should be easy to tell what length of shock you need.

Hope you get the correct length shock and spring and that Taco should be pretty amazing. Long arm + 6" kit, that thing should go anywhere and shouldn't be tippy at all with extended arms.

I don't see anything wrong with this at all. Basically, all you would need to consider is adding 4-6" of shock travel. Some people say the bracket isn't designed for longer arms... bla bla bla.. I'm guessing the drop bracket is easily as strong as the stock mounts and they were only intended for stock arms, too. Personally, I think this is a great idea if you want more height out of your vehicle and long travel to boot. Good job and I may be joining you in the future.

My big issue is I want to go with the LSK or the new Marlin long travel which both come with knuckles. This makes doing one of these lifts pretty much impossible since they need their own knuckles for the drop. Oh well. Just another problem to solve.... :)

Ya man, my last Tacoma had a 6in lift and I rock crawled the crap out of it. I had no issues with the drop bracket other than the corner where the lower control arm connects , that got hit hard a few times which did bend and made getting an alignment difficult. On the plus side I never had to run skids other than sliders nothing ever came close to tranny or other parts.

I really hope you do your research because you clearly don't know what you're talking about either.

So? That's hardly proof or research. It's just a few people over the course of 5 years posting about how they went back to stock. Seems like you're basing your decision off of years of a few people making assumptions or breaking their truck with a bracket lift by doing something not related to the lift ..and all that misinformation over time does not make it "true."

And yes, I actually do wheel my truck.. so do plenty other drop-bracket owners.. I've done more hard trails than you can most (maybe including you) ever did and I'm in a full-size Tundra with a bracket, long-travel, and 40s..

Ok, that's sick. I wonder if I can order the exact suspension part you have and directly fit it onto my 3rd gen with Procomp DB

I wish i had seen this thread before... I had a 6 inch DB and I tried to install a LT +4.5 but I never got the alignment correctly.. we tried many things but I couldn't get it align , so I end up removing the DB and went LT only .. but i was running 37"s with the DB and still running 37s still with LT only, ofcourse a lot of trimming involve..

That was with DB and 37s, wheels 20x12 et-44 and spacers , also 3 inch front wider fenders

    Screenshot_20190108-121532_Gallery.jpg

    Another glance on the DB
    20190405_141119.jpg

This is what i had to trimmed to get 37 to fit

    Screenshot_20200322-170029_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20200322-170113_Photos.jpg

And this is how it end up with the LT +4.5 , different wheel setup and complete +3" inch wider fenders and bedsides , 17x9 et-38 37x12.50 trepadors
