Yesterday I had to change a headlight. On the older tacos you have to remove the grille. I couldn't believe the massive amount of bugs squashed into the grille. Looked like Armageddon in there. The pics don't really do it justice because I swear looking in the fins the whole damned radiator was packed solid with their carcasses. I spent 30 minutes cleaning them all out with a brush. Its amazing the radiator was able to cool the engine at all.

There were some weird things in there. Like cigarette butts, a piece of tinfoil, and chunks of what looked like pieces of a bird. Course' that's from 14 years of driving. Oh- and I found my lost spark plug wrench. I've missed it for probably 3 years. It was down inbetween the AC radiator and the engine radiator.

One thing I did on our Dodge, being as it was the workhorse of the fammilly, and racked up a shit ton of miles, was to put some screen door material behind the grill. So far, so good. :) Just a thought...

+1, I did this on my tacoma to catch the bugs and to help hide my engine parts behind my black grillcraft grill. It really helps black out behind the grill.
