    Hey all :)

Im prepping to do my first oil change on my Tacoma and had a few questions!

    Truck is 2015 Tacoma 4.0 V6 SR5

Firstly, I live in NH, the colder months are coming - what weight oil will my Tacoma like on colder mornings?

I’ve seen there is a tube that is used to drain the oil filter, what size and which type of tube should I purchase?

And lastly - What type/size oil filter wrench should I purchase? Any recommendations?

    Thanks guys :)

just use 5w30 like it says on the cap. I just shove an empty water bottle in there under the nipple to catch the oil. It doesn't drain the filter, just excess that spills from taking the filter off. Drain the pan first. And make sure its the OIL pan and not the transmission pan. I don't use a filter wrench, but they are good to have. Just a typical smaller band wrench works fine.

If the filter won't budge I use a pipe wrench.

Also, save you some clean up time... Duck tape a big trash bag to the driveway under the pan in case of splashes while it's draining :)

Masshole here. I use mobil1 5w-30 year round.

I also use factory filters, ...yzzd3. They're taller than what comes from the factory. I wedge an old oil bottle under that nipple before loosening the filter. And the filter leans against that funnel lip nicely while it drains.

Cut the bottom off of a quart Gatorade bottle and use it for a funnel. It screws in the oil fill neck perfectly. A Mobile 1 oil bottle also works, but that's kind of the cart before the horse.
