Hello all, sold my 2014 SR5 in June, looking at a new 2019 TRD with tech package. Lots of inventory here in ID, I want a 6 speed, thinking of leasing at $299 a month x 36, I only drive 8-10 miles a year.
Question: buy the factory foldable tonneau or go after market?
My residual buyout in three years is $28,000, if truck isn’t a dog I will likely buy it.

The factory bed cover isn't sealed 100% so water will still get in the bed, but I think most covers let some amount of water in. My truck came with the factory cover and I loved it when I had it on.

Also, I see you're from Meridian, I used to live there and will be moving back there in about a year :D

In regards to the truck, test drive it a bunch, make sure you like it. See if your dealer will let you do an extended test drive.

If you only drive 8 to 10 miles per year, I’d call an Uber and be done.

Off-road manual 4x4's (2019) are all over Autotrader for $34,000. Before taxes, you'd be at $38,700 after the lease buyout. I've never leased, so take my opinion with a grain of salt - but I doubt you're coming out on top here. $4,000 additional for a 3 year test drive seems excessive to me, but if you're really unsure, maybe it's a decent deal?

Are you putting any money down? That'd make it even worse. What's the list price?
