The duratrack's remind me of goodyear's old workhorse tire probably one of the worst tires I've ever run. I did a little more google searching and say that Yokohama has a few also now just to find a dealer here locally...

    My truck is MAGIC
I've seen a lot of duratracs get sliced sidewalks. We don't even have a lot of rocks out here.

I LOVED my 265/75r16 Kelly safari tsar. Absolutely wicked.

Comments on the Duratrac have been noted. When looking for a winter tire this past winter I consider the Duratrac but backed off, mainly due to the price and the fact that the sidewall only had 2 plies. My Duratrac suggestion was mainly due to the size and load range.
I did notice however that on this Forum their is a few Duratrac fan, people either like them or hate them, but like anything else when a tire fails you it's usually time to try something new.

A quick note my stock rugged trails have served me well even when floogging them with razor sharp lava rock we have here. I'll look at the firestones again and look at the Kelly's (I don't think anyone here has em) thanks! Any other suggestions out there?

10 plys on our light trucks? I ran 8 ply 265/75 16 BFG AT's on my '05 tacoma and didn't like them much. lost a bunch of MPG's and going over bumps in a turn was down right scary. I know a lot of people do it but I'm looking to get the best of both worlds out of my tire (performance and safety) I'm gonna look @ the firestones on thursday. Doe's anyone have any experence with Maxis tires?

With some tires in some sizes you don't get a choice of load rating

Yep I understand the lack of choice in certan models and I want to avoid those. Mostly just interested in 6 ply models
