Preferably one with decent sales people and good knowledge of their truck line and not just Camry experts. I live in Southern California and I'm looking to buy a Tacoma soon. I'd like the least hassle possible since I have zero patience with car salesmen. ;)

Anyone have a dealer that they've had good experiences with?

Toyota of Whittier. Thats where I bought mine. they are a very small dealership and are desperate to sell trucks. Very nice people; no in your face, sleazy salesmen.

I went through carsdirect.com and was able to get it pretty much at cost. They located one for me with the options I wanted and picked it up at Lancaster Toyota. Was in and out in about 40 minutes. No hassles at all.

This forum kicks ass. I just posted that and I already have 2 replies. It's like I'm in a room full of Tacoma junkies. :D

Thanks for the quick responses, I'll check those dealerships out.

I went to Toyota of Orange and this Scottish salesman really helped me out. No pressure or any of that bs you usually get. I'll try to find his name for you if you want.

Hey nd, did you see that. "Scottish salesman". If he was Irish, tcBob would never have bought a Tacoma.

I usually purchase my vehicles using the internet. I recently purchased my Tacoma through CarsDirect.com. They found exactly what I was looking for at Longo Toyota in El Monte, which is probably close to where you live. I got a very good price using their buying service (which beats haggling with the dealers). They also saved me the time I would have spent going from dealer to dealer looking for the truck I wanted with the options I wanted. I recommend using this type of service.

In his defense, it wouldn't have been his fault, he probably would have been passed out in the parking lot and unable to sell trucks. Either that or he would have broken a whiskey bottle over Bobs head, spewed out some drunken irish gibberish and done a little jig :)

whatever you do, stay away from longo in el monte if you want anything covered under warranty!! i fought for over a month concerning the TSB for the springs when the salesman told me it was done before i purchased the truck. i knew i should have done a little more reading before i trusted him. they did not cover it in the end!! first i was denied because they told me i had to have the part actually fail before they would replace it. then when it did actually break in half, they changed their story and told me that they would only cover the one that broke. in the end, i got lied to 3 different times!!

so cliffnotes, STAY AWAY FROM LONGO IN EL MONTE!!! i hate that place.

Longo is practically its own city. Its the only dealer I know with its own freeway off-ramp. They do so much business, they feel they dont need to cater to every customer. And thats precisely why i diddnt go there to buy.

Build your truck on toyota.com then submit for quote to your local dealerships via the web site. Once you get the quotes, email the lowest to the other dealerships and you can usually get another $500 off that price. Worked for me at DCH Toyota of Oxnard, truck was washed and gassed when I got there...out the door in about an hour.

I work for a Toyota supplier and get Toyota associate pricing. One of the factory reps we deal with told me that even the Toyota price is higher than Longo, but their Internet dealership wouldn't get as low as Toyota of Ventura or Oxnard would...

I felt so much pressure at Longo, I got up and walked out...

I ended up buying from John Elway (Crown) Toyota in Ontario...I had some minor issues with some little things and their customer service took care of me right away..

Hey 909 , I got mine at Crown too. Out of 6 other Toyota dealers in my area ,they were the only ones who could track down an access cab trd sport for me. I'm not real impressed with their service dept. I then found that Moss Bross here in Moreno Valley had a great service dept. At least thats what i thought until today when they started the BS about my rear spring TSB. Maybe i should try Crown again.

I dealt with Hisham @ toyota Chula Vista. They don't get as much business as the mile of cars so they tend to be cheaper. I told the dealer on the mile of cars what Chula vista offered me and his reply was, "hell we'll never match that."

I got my 07 PreRunner from Hamer in Mission Hills too. I went thru Costco and their policy is to sell at factory invoice (they show it to you). No complaints at all about any aspect of buying there.
