The manual hub stub shaft has 6mm smaller OD than the ADD stub. I had a manual hub and swapped back after breaking one. The hub grenaded with it. Good luck finding parts for hubs. I could not find the brass bushing anywhere. Even called ORS and they no longer make them. If that is salvageable then you've still got to find a hub in a junkyard for $100 plus another axle at $50. I'll take only replacing a broken axle and save the $100 in hub replacement. Stick with ADD if you push your truck offroad. 2lo is fun though.

Edit: I felt my 4 banger snapped the manual hub like a tooth pick

Never seen an ADD break the stub shaft. Usually it's the joint that fails. Cut the boots and pull the shaft, drive home.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's like major armageddon when these shafts break.

Yeah they break at the axle shaft..

So you leave the tulip in the diff?

You must be a monster. I've never been able to pull the shaft from the birfield. Even using the pipe trick with the CV on the bench... Always have had to cut the cage or the axle tip with a cut-off wheel..

Hey, I remember that somebody sold the needle bearings and bushings but can't remember the company. Do you remember? I think it might have been Marlin Crawler.

ORS sells the needle bearing and used to sell the bronze bushings but haven't for around two years now. I think the only option is to scavenge at the junk yards or buy a new hub and pilfer the bushings.

Marlin sells just for the Toyota pickup, but I haven't investigated in a while.

I just checked Marlin Crawler and they sell the brass bushings for a Hilux which I assume would work.

No, the ADD axles I've seen break, break in the birf joint. The stub end remains in the hub and the tulip just slides out after the boot is cut.

Isn't the Hilux in the states considered the pickup?

Well please let us know if they work. Im sure Marlin would know if they fit 95-00 Tacoma's. Those parts are the biggest headache to find.

Inner and outer are two different sizes fwiw.
