Looking for a used Taco, 05 or 06?

After 4+ years of motorcycles only, I am looking at getting a truck. I really like the 2nd gen double cabs. A brand new 2010 or '09 would be awesome but not likely. Does it make sence to skip over the '05? Were there "teething" problems with the brand new model that could be avoided by getting the '06 or newer? Thanks for your thoughts. I have been lurking for awhile now, seems to be a great site!

 

First off welcome to TW! and you should defiantly buy a tacoma, you won't regret it. You should base your purchase on whats best one for a good price. If you could try to avoid anything that has been used except if you knew the previous owner or its certified used. its your call but spending the extra money and getting a new one always wont hurt ya!

 

Thanks for the reply! I have been reading about motor mount problems and weak tailgates. Does it seem like those issues get sorted out after the '05?
